More Time to Apply for Your CHF Canada Green Co-op Microgrant

Date
13 April 2020

Does your co-op have a small green project in mind? This is your moment. Apply now and take advantage of the deadline extension to April 30, 2020.

Housing co-ops can save some money and help the environment too through CHF Canada’s Greener Co‑op Microgrant program. The grant applications are available on line at the link below and are open to all CHF Canada members. In past years, housing co-ops have offset local greenhouse gas emissions by using the grant to expand the green spaces and places in their communities. Check out the 2019 winners for inspiration.

The grant covers materials, supplies and equipment, as well as contractor and consultant fees. It does not cover members’ labour, co-op staff wages, normal co-op operating costs or ongoing maintenance after the project concludes. Co-ops may apply for only one project at a time, but if you’ve already used a grant to complete a project, feel free to apply again. The application process is simple, but you will need a plan that includes completion deadlines and budget details for your project. Grants range from $500 to $4,000.

More information and the application form are available here.
